{"id":1849,"date":"2024-07-09T08:32:37","date_gmt":"2024-07-09T06:32:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/info.openlane.eu\/?post_type=faq&#038;p=1849"},"modified":"2024-11-14T09:42:16","modified_gmt":"2024-11-14T08:42:16","slug":"3-11-does-openlane-only-sell-second-hand-vehicles","status":"publish","type":"faq","link":"https:\/\/info.openlane.eu\/en\/help\/faq\/for-buyers\/auction-process\/3-11-does-openlane-only-sell-second-hand-vehicles\/","title":{"rendered":"3.11 Does OPENLANE only sell second-hand vehicles?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span>Whilst OPENLANE only sells previously purchased vehicles, the EU VAT Directive states that a vehicle is still considered to be new if it meets one of the following conditions:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>The vehicle has been in use for less than six months from the date of commissioning, meaning the buyer has taken possession of the vehicle within six months of its entry into function.<\/span><br \/>\n<span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>The vehicle has been driven for no more than 6000 kilometres.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>Vehicles that meet either of these conditions are still classed as new, and the registration procedures will be arranged as for a new vehicle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>OPENLANE\u2019s invoices are created automatically, as soon as payment for the vehicle is received, in accordance with Belgian legislation and the VAT regime.
