It\u2019s time you found out. For quite<span>\u00a0<\/span>some time, OPENLANE has been monitoring their performance in four key areas:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 The quality of vehicle descriptions.<br \/>\n\u2022 How often sellers accept the highest bid on a vehicle. The price barometer is a three-colour system that works in tandem with the<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>estimated price<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>to show you how attractive your bid is. If you know what the colours on traffic lights mean, you\u2019ll be able to use the price barometer without any issues:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_small\"><\/div><div class=\"g-cols wpb_row via_grid cols_2-1 laptops-cols_inherit tablets-cols_inherit mobiles-cols_1 valign_middle type_default stacking_default\" style=\"--columns-gap:3rem;\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p><strong><span>Red:<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>Your bid will probably stop where it is. You haven\u2019t reached the<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>estimated price<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>for a vehicle and run every risk of being outbid or falling below the seller\u2019s minimum price.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span>Yellow:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Your bid might proceed \u2026 The<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>estimated price<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>is at the end of this zone. You\u2019ll need to cross your fingers to win \u2026 or increase your bid.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span>Green:<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>Your bid is in the right position to move ahead. You\u2019ve passed the<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>estimated price<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>and are where the action is! The BI team has rolled up its sleeves and tinkered with the data to calculate a total<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>seller score<\/strong>. You\u2019ll see this seller score on every car or, if you like, for every seller, as long as we have enough data. But you don\u2019t just have the overall result: click where it says<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>score details<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>and you\u2019ll find out just how well a seller does in each of the key areas.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll see the<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>price barometer<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>on most cars, except cars in x-Time or Buy Now auctions. While it doesn\u2019t guarantee you a win or a loss, it does indicate how attractive your bid is and is an awesome way to help you win more cars!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_medium\"><\/div><div class=\"g-cols wpb_row via_grid cols_2-1 laptops-cols_inherit tablets-cols_inherit mobiles-cols_1 valign_middle type_default stacking_default\" style=\"--columns-gap:3rem;\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><h2>Consumer market price<\/h2>\n<p>Do you ever hesitate about bidding on a certain car? You may have doubts about its value on your market \u2026 But not anymore. You\u2019ll now see the<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>consumer market price<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>for a vehicle. This is the average price that the make and model is sold for in your local market. While it doesn\u2019t take damage into account, it does include VAT and gives you a very good idea of whether you would benefit from bidding on a certain car. Especially when you combine it with the<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>price barometer<\/strong>. This feature is available for Spain &amp; Portugal. Because we have good news! With our expanded list of transport destinations, OPENLANE has been able to introduce standard transport on our most common routes. And this has given us plenty of data and numbers to crunch. The result? We are now able to give you a good idea of when to expect your car. There are certain variables that are difficult to predict, such as how long it will take you to pay for a car or the seller to release it, so our<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>estimated transport times<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>are, without any doubt, estimates. We have updated the design of the <strong>car description<\/strong> page too. It is light, simple to navigate and filled with easy-to-digest information. It\u2019s exactly what you need in the dynamic auction environment where everything changes in the blink of an eye:<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 20px; text-align: justify;\">\u2022 Anytime there\u2019s something important you need to know about, you\u2019ll see it explicitly indicated.<br \/>\n\u2022 Instead of looking for important info, you\u2019ll now find it highlighted in blue boxes. If, for example, COC is not available, you\u2019ll find it clearly marked out.<br \/>\n\u2022 We have added improvements to ensure consistently. Our use of icons and colours is made even easier with <strong>easily accessible text explanations<\/strong> added to explain what icons and colours mean.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>Our \u2018To do\u2019 list<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Our major overhaul isn\u2019t finished yet. Over the next twelve to fifteen months, we have a few exciting new additions to work on. The most important of these is the <strong>My selection<\/strong> page and a new <strong>Search<\/strong> page. Your <strong>My account <\/strong>page will be undergoing a makeover and the <strong>Confirmation<\/strong> page will be updated too. Finally, we have also decided to add a few extras to your MyBids. Very soon, you\u2019ll see new icons that give you immediate access to the most popular options and pages on the OPENLANE site. On top of this? We want to brush up our <strong>Damage descriptions<\/strong>. And we decide to take the <strong>Home <\/strong>page to the next level too \u2026 All these ideas are underway, but the most important ideas are the ones you have.
