Maar zijn er echt geen alternatieven? Deze chemische reactie, bekend als hydrolyse, produceert elektriciteit <strong>en geeft alleen water als waterdamp vrij uit de uitlaat<\/strong>. Met andere woorden, <strong>u rijdt met zelf opgewekte elektriciteit<\/strong>. Het is een elektrisch voertuig met de voordelen van een benzinevoertuig: u kunt altijd waterstof tanken bij de pomp. Er zijn echter een paar nadelen: <strong>er zijn slechts twee modellen op de markt<\/strong> (Toyota Mirai en Hyundai Nexo), die beiden veel kosten. Bovendien is <strong>het aantal tankstations in Europa uiterst beperkt<\/strong>. Het is een negatieve spiraal: ontwerpers richten zich op BEV&#8217;s (batterij-electrische voertuigen) omdat er meer hiervan worden gekocht. Dit betekent dat er minder waterstoftankstations zijn en dat mensen minder waterstofvoertuigen kopen, waardoor ze niet goedkoper worden en het aantal modellen beperkt blijft. Renault heeft aangegeven iets in deze technologie te zien, en BMW en Land Rover experimenteren met respectievelijk een X5 en een Defender die op waterstof rijden. <strong>De kostprijs van waterstof is momenteel ook een probleem<\/strong>: ongeveer \u20ac 10 per kilogram, <strong>maar dat zal in de toekomst veranderen<\/strong>. Uit een recent onafhankelijk wereldwijd onderzoek van BloombergNEF (BNEF) blijkt dat schone waterstof de komende decennia kan worden ingezet om de wereldwijde uitstoot van broeikasgassen door fossiele brandstoffen en de industrie met tot wel 34% te verminderen. En voor een prijs die als &#8216;haalbaar&#8217; wordt beschouwd. Dit is echter alleen mogelijk als er een beleid wordt ingevoerd om de technologie te helpen ontwikkelen en de kosten te verlagen. Met andere woorden, <strong>waterstof kan een geweldig alternatief zijn<\/strong>, onder voorwaarde dat we het op een groene manier produceren en dat de ontwerpers er zelf voordeel in zien, zodat de technologie gedemocratiseerd kan worden. Dus iets om in de gaten te houden. <\/p>\n<h2>CNG<\/h2>\n<p> <strong>CNG<\/strong> (gecomprimeerd aardgas)<strong>is een alternatieve brandstof die milieuvriendelijker en kosteneffectiever is dan brandstoffen gebaseerd op ruwe olie<\/strong>. Op milieugebied is bij CNG-motoren, in vergelijking met diesel- en benzinemotoren, <strong>een vermindering vastgesteld van ongeveer 75 tot 90% van fijne stof en stikstofoxiden<\/strong>. Het CO2-gehalte is ook 7 tot 16% lager en de motor maakt slechts de helft zoveel lawaai. Volgens de &#8216;barometer&#8217; van het Observatorium van Bedrijfswagens, uitgevoerd bij 3.300 Europese bedrijven (2018), is <strong>CNG nog steeds een brandstof die niet echt populair is<\/strong>. Alleen LPG en waterstof zijn (nog steeds) minder populair dan aardgas. Slechts 8% van de ondervraagde bedrijven gebruikt al CNG-voertuigen in hun wagenpark of overweegt de integratie van CNG in het wagenpark binnen de komende drie jaar.. Het zijn ook vooral de grote bedrijven en zeer grote wagenparken die het meest openstaan voor het gebruik ervan. In veel landen verliest CNG echter zijn belastingvoordeel, omdat het wordt gezien als een fossiele brandstof. Momenteel is het ook slechts bij een paar autofabrikanten mogelijk om dit soort voertuigen te kopen: de Volkswagen-groep, FCA\/Stellantis en SsangYong (die in veel landen conversies aanbiedt) zijn de belangrijkste spelers. De brandstof lijkt enigszins momentum verloren te hebben, waarschijnlijk vanwege de hogere prijzen voor aardgas van de afgelopen maanden. <strong>Deze brandstof had zeker zijn waarde<\/strong>, en heeft dat in bepaalde omstandigheden nog steeds, <strong>maar het lijkt erop dat CNG de komende jaren wel eens uit zou kunnen zijn<\/strong>. Bovendien is er hier ook het probleem van de infrastructuur: in Belgi\u00eb en Itali\u00eb bijvoorbeeld zijn er vrij veel stations, maar in andere landen is de brandstof zo goed als onbekend. <\/p>\n<h2>LPG<\/h2>\n<p> <strong>Vloeibaar petroleumgas<\/strong>, LPG, was er eerder dan CNG, maar <strong>is momenteel nog minder populair<\/strong>. Tegenwoordig kunt u LPG-voertuigen krijgen van Renault-Dacia, maar de brandstof is vooral bekend als brandstof voor omgebouwde pick-ups zoals de Dodge Ram. Voor dit soort voertuigen die op benzine rijden, is de brandstof ook bijzonder interessant vanwege de lage prijs. Nadelen van LPG: <strong>niet alle voertuigen worden tot ondergrondse parkeergarages toegelaten<\/strong>, de fabrieksgarantie vervalt bij ombouw en het verbruik van LPG is iets hoger dan dat van CNG. Ook hier dezelfde conclusie als bij CNG: in bepaalde Europese gebieden en voor beperkte toepassingen blijft LPG nuttig, maar deze technologie dreigt de komende jaren steeds meer naar de achtergrond te verdwijnen. <\/p>\n<h2>Risico&#8217;s spreiden<\/h2>\n<p> <strong>Waterstof zou zich in de komende jaren kunnen ontwikkelen tot een goed alternatief<\/strong>. CNG en LPG zijn momenteel interessant op sommige markten. U kunt het beste vertrouwen op een breed ondersteuningsnetwerk om <strong>deze voertuigen aan te schaffen<\/strong>, omdat ze niet in grote aantallen beschikbaar <strong>zijn<\/strong>.
