Het biedt meer kansen aan kopers die misschien iets minder hebben geboden en geeft verkopers meer opties. Dit betekent dat ze hun voorraad snel kwijt kunnen zonder het gedoe van meerdere veilingen regelen. In tegenstelling tot eerder, toen verkopers alleen de optie hadden om het hoogste bod op hun veiling te accepteren of af te wijzen, kunnen ze nu een tegenbod doen dat een betere weergave is van de waarde van het voertuig. &#8220;Beslissen over de hoogte van het bod is een moeilijke opgave &#8211; u wilt niet overbieden en meer betalen dan nodig is,&#8221; zegt Johan Meyssen, CEO bij ADESA Europe. Maar u wilt ook niet onderbieden en de auto mislopen. Door te onderhandelen hebben kopers de kans om hun bod te verhogen en auto&#8217;s te kopen die ze anders zouden hebben gemist. Hierdoor is de kans veel groter dat u niet alleen de veiling wint, maar ook daadwerkelijk de auto in handen krijgt.&#8221; Zodra een verkoper een tegenbod doet, hebben de twee partijen 24 uur de tijd om tot een nieuwe overeenkomst te komen door tegenbiedingen uit te wisselen. Tijdens deze periode kunnen onbeperkt aanbiedingen worden gedaan. Als er geen overeenkomst wordt bereikt, wordt de verkoop geannuleerd; als er wel een nieuwe prijs kan worden overeengekomen, gaan beide partijen er met een glimlach vandoor.
