Import/Export expertise

OPENLANE provides extensive export expertise and assistance.

Administration assistance

To feel comfortable purchasing vehicles online, you need to know you have all the necessary information. That’s why we publish detailed descriptions of every vehicle that’s auctioned with OPENLANE. And we’re available to help at any point in the purchasing process. Especially when it comes to paperwork. Vehicle sales require certain documents for things like the transfer of ownership, pickup arrangements and transport and exports. Our experts help you breeze through the bureaucracy without any hassles.

We’ve also made all the information you need easily accessible online. You’ll find an overview and history of your purchases and the associated paperwork in ‘My Account’. It’s all very straightforward and easy to follow. Win an auction? Confirm the purchase. You’ll then receive an order form that lets you pay for it. Your invoice becomes available after that. And when the vehicle is ready for collection, you’ll be sent the vitally important Pickup Authorisation (PuA). On request, we will also provide the Certificate of Delivery (CoD).

Import/Export experts

OPENLANE has been selling vehicles internationally for more than ten years. We know all there is to know, including exactly which documents you need to import and export vehicles in different countries. We are available to help you arrange the documents below for an additional fee to cover labour and resources.

Exporting from an EU country to a non-EU country

EX document: You need an EX document to export a vehicle from an EU country to a country outside the EU. For vehicles that are physically located in Belgium or the Netherlands, OPENLANE can provide this document for a fee of €110. For vehicles in other locations, you can arrange this document with a third party.

Please note:

  • Dutch vehicles that are up for auction are not available to non-EU customers due to local tax restrictions.
  • OPENLANE requires a temporary deposit for any vehicle that is to be exported to a non-EU country. The amount of this payment will be mentioned on the order form and equates to twenty-one per cent (21%) of the total cost of the vehicle, including the related fees and costs, with a minimum of five hundred euros (€500). This deposit will be refunded as soon as the Exit Confirmation is received and the Final Delivery Document is approved.
