Our auctions are available for professional car dealers and traders and not for private individuals. They must be represented by persons who are authorised to enter into legally binding contracts in accordance with the legislation in effect.

To register with OPENLANE, customers must provide legitimate company and VAT credentials. They are also required to allow us to check their activities. For this reason, they must provide us with their NACE codes.

OPENLANE is an automotive marketplace aimed specifically at professional car traders and dealers. It’s free to register no matter where you live.

See below to find out how to register:

1. Fill in your VAT number
Please enter your VAT number and click ‘Verify VAT number’. The system will automatically check the validity of your VAT number.

2. Company and contact details
Fill in your company and contact details. Make sure you enter a valid email address. Choose your username and password, and whether you would like to stay informed by email or phone (you can change this later in your ‘My account’ portal). Confirm that you are a professional car trader, agree with the terms and conditions, click “Submit*” and you’re good to go!

3. Confirm your email address
Immediately after registering, you’ll receive a confirmation email. Please click on the link to validate your email address. Then log in and proceed to become a Verified Buyer.

4. Become a Verified Buyer
After registering, you will be guided through a few additional questions to verify your profile and become a Verified Buyer. Becoming a Verified Buyer is required to purchase on OPENLANE. Take a moment to complete your profile. Our team will then swiftly review your information and notify you of the outcome.

To complete your profile, please have the following ready:

– A valid ID (and a valid residence permit, if applicable)
– A digital copy of your company registration documents
– A working webcam or smartphone for the ID verification

Important: The person completing the verification must be one of the company’s Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBOs).”

5. Full access to OPENLANE
As soon as you meet the verification criteria and become a Verified Buyer, you have full access to OPENLANE and can start bidding and purchasing vehicles.

If you’ve registered with OPENLANE, we’ll guide you through a few additional questions to verify your profile and become a Verified Buyer.

As part of the verification process, you will be asked to upload your company registration documents. These documents should show that your company is active in the automotive trade, for example through NACE codes related to car trading and vehicle sales (such as 45.11, 50.10, or equivalent activities in your country).

If your current company registration documents do not include automotive trading activities, you may need to extend your company’s registered activities through the relevant authority in your country before completing the verification process.

Once your profile and documents have been reviewed and approved, you will become a Verified Buyer and gain full access to purchase vehicles on OPENLANE.
