Round-the-clock chatbot support now available!

We’re excited to announce that our chatbot is now available around the clock to assist you with your questions, offering immediate support whenever you need it. During office hours, you can ask the chatbot to connect you with a customer service agent for personalized assistance if your query remains unresolved. If you need help outside of office hours, you can open a ticket for further assistance to which our customer service will reply via email or phone call at the earliest possible opportunity.

Easily track down your purchases via “My orders” in “My account”

From now on, you’ll find all your purchases in one place: ‘My orders’. Accessible through ‘My account’, ‘My orders’ makes it easy to track down a specific order by searching for any of the vehicle characteristics—reference number, VIN, license plate, make and model—or by the order channel, status, confirmation date, or claims.

In just a glance, you know the status of the purchase and whether there’s anything you need to do to keep it moving along. Thanks to the new ‘My orders’ page, you always know exactly what’s happening with your vehicle purchases.

The new ‘My claims’ page lets you manage claims with ease

At OPENLANE, we do everything we can to make buying second-hand cars as simple and stress-free as possible. If a vehicle arrives in a different condition than you were expecting, you might be able to make a claim in line with our claims policy. Starting a new claim will show you the vehicles that are eligible for claims. And with the new ‘My claims’ page, making and managing claims is easier than ever. You don’t even need to leave your ‘My account’ portal.

Fully functional on mobile devices
The new ‘My claims’ page is fully functional on mobile devices:

  • Easily file a new claims
  • Search via reference number, VIN, license plate, or make and model to find
  • the vehicle you’ve purchased.
  • In just seconds, you’ll know if it is eligible for claims. If so, you can file your claim immediately.
  • It’s easy to check the status of your existing claims (new, open or closed) at any time.
  • You can even search via claim status and creation date.
  • You can edit new claims and provide further evidence when necessary.

In a perfect world, you would never have to file a claim. But in the real world, things sometimes happen that we can’t predict. Our claims policy has been developed to help you to the greatest extent possible. And while we can’t guarantee specific outcomes, we’re committed to acting on all valid complaints in a fair, responsive and timely manner.

My documents’ in ‘My account’ is now better than ever

‘My account’ is being fully overhauled and updated, a mission that’s taking place in stages. As part of this upgrade, ‘My documents’ has been redesigned to save you time and effort, and is now also accessible from mobile devices.

Small extras for a bigger user experience

FLEXIBLE
All documents related to your purchases are available in ‘My documents’. And thanks to this upgrade, finding the document you need is easier than ever, whether you’re in front of a computer or using your smartphone.

FINDABLE
When looking for a specific document, you can search using vehicle characteristics, order data and document type. Plus, your documents are always visible in the same place. They no longer change position during the after-sales process.

USABLE
Each document is clearly identified and features the relevant reference number, so you know you’re clicking on the right document for the right vehicle. Your documents are also helpfully categorised according to the process they belong to: ‘orders and invoices’ or ‘transport’, for example. And soon, you’ll be able to download a batch of documents with just one click, which will be very handy at the end of the month when you need to send all your invoices to your accountant, for example.

Thanks to this upgrade, managing the paperwork tied to your vehicle purchases is simpler, speedier and less stressful.

Check the status of your vehicle deliveries anytime via ‘My account’

If you’ve purchased a vehicle from OPENLANE and it’s on its way to you, you need to know where exactly the vehicle is and when it will arrive to efficiently plan and manage your operations. We fully understand that!
That’s why we’ve now made this delivery information available whenever you need it!

How does it make your life easier?

  • Our new ‘Vehicle deliveries’ overview lets you quickly and easily check the delivery status of all your purchases in ‘My account’ (under dashboard).
  • At a glance, you’ll know where each vehicle is and when it’s expected to arrive.
  • You no longer have to call or email us to know where your car is, so you save time.
  • Available on desktop & mobile.

Saved searches

We have updated the “saved search” email to make it more engaging for the buyers, by allowing them to see images of the top 3 vehicles matching each search. This will help them to better decide if they want to explore the vehicle in more detail.

New filters: Number of seats & All-wheel-drive (AWD)

To make your search for the right car as simple and easy as possible, we have added two elements to our platform:

  1. Number of seats: a separate filter is added to the “Find cars” page so you can easily search for the number of seats available in a vehicle.
  2. All-wheel-drive (AWD): from now on, we show the drivetrain type in the car title. For brands you’ll see xDrive, Quattro and so on. Otherwise, AWD is listed.

My recommendations: your customised collection of available cars

Every day many cars are put online on our auction platform. That doesn’t always make it easy to find the car you’re looking for. That’s why we’ve set up a custom ‘My recommendations’ page, making it easier to find cars you’re interested in.

This page shows a selection of available cars specifically for you, based on your buying habits and interests, thus saving you time and effort in searching for the right car.

You can access ‘My recommendations’ through the ‘My account’ menu.

Optimo, your optimal payment & inspection service is back!

We have very good news for you: because of improved market conditions, we are able to offer the Optimo service again.

What is Optimo again?

Optimo contains 2 must-have services:

  • A later payment (just before arrival in the hub): you pay the fee for Optimo immediately via online payment. You only pay the total price of the vehicle just before arrival of your vehicle at the hub via bank transfer.
  • An additional vehicle inspection at the pick-up location: we organize an additional professional inspection of your vehicle at the destination pick-up location, looking specifically for damages that could have been caused during transport and storage of the vehicle.

Stock cars are just sitting around in parking lots, waiting for a new owner. Our 24/7 stock sale lets you purchase these cars at the ‘Buy Now’ price whenever it suits you, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There’s no bidding and no waiting for auctions to end. You simply buy the car outright.

Cars that are part of the 24/7 stock sale are clearly marked, and you can search for them directly using the “Find cars” search filter.

With our new negotiation feature, we’re giving you more opportunities to make offers that sellers accept.

New filter: auction source

Thanks to the neverending efforts to increase the variety in our auctions, you can now find cars on OPENLANE from more countries than ever before. To help you find the cars sold locally, you can use the new “Auction source” filter on our website. Select “domestic” to only see the cars that are sold by sellers in your country. That’s the easiest way to find a good deal close to home!

My account is getting a makeover!

We strive to make your visit to openlane.eu as easy and convenient as possible for you. That’s why we have improved the navigation and My account menu. Ticking off your to-do list is now easier than ever.

Navigation improvements:

  • The navigation is shortened, to the point and brought to the left
  • The “Sell cars” tab is removed from the navigation, replaced by the link at the bottom of the website and a banner on the home page

My Account improvements:

  • My account becomes a dropdown menu containing all submenus, visible after login
  • 3 pages have a new layout: Dashboard, Account settings and My Fin (if applicable)
  • Old My account pages are incorporated in the new structure: My orders, My logistics, My documents and Claims
  • AND FINALLY, you can now configure up to two delivery addresses!

Transitioning to the new format is work in progress. That’s why you’ll see some pages in the old format and some pages that have already been updated. Don’t worry, everything you need is still there. And once the upgrade is complete, you’ll enjoy a smoother workflow on every page.

New search filter: dealer cars!

From today onwards, you can filter the OPENLANE offer on “Dealer cars”! The new filter enables you to search specifically for cars coming from franchised dealers and car traders. In just one simple click.

  • Where can you find this new filter? Click on “Find cars” tab.
  • How will you see this search filter? You need to log in to see the “Dealer cars” filter.
  • Are other filters planned anytime soon? We are extending our searches with other filters in the near future. Stay tuned!
